Buddhist Dharma Center of Cincinnati

Whether you are just beginning to explore Buddhism, meditation or have been practicing for years, you are welcome to join us in a quiet sitting, discussion, reading, or exploring the Dharma together. Little by little, so much can be discovered and resolved.

Openness and inclusivity are at the heart of Dharma teachings and practice; the center is committed to kindness and respect for others, regardless of race, religion, cultural expressions, gender, gender identity, age or abilities. All are welcome!

The Offerings

The Buddhist Dharma Center of Cincinnati provides an open and supportive environment for practicing meditation and studying the Dharma. Our purpose is to cultivate a path which leads to awakening through the following:

Developing a community-based center

directed and financially supported by its members (anyone who shows up and takes part!)

Maintaining a weekly schedule

of a variety of session formats to meet the needs of everyone from newcomers to long-time practitioners

Providing instruction

from experienced sangha members in in basic Buddhist teachings and simple sitting and walking meditation practices common to all Buddhist traditions

Sharing a compassionate approach

to life with the larger community and striving to embody ethical living as presented in the precepts

Creating opportunities

to deepen one's practice through Dharma study, periodic extended meditation sessions, open discussions, and Dharma talks by local teachers and sangha members

Supporting members' needs and interests

by the formation of small group explorations around a topic, book discussions, or other common interests
